The amazing agility of lions

Lion agility

Unfortunately most of the time spent with lions is just sitting and waiting for something to happen. Most of their day is spent lying around conserving energy or ambling from one shady spot to another.

However, if one is patient enough, they might witness a few rare incidences of a sudden flash of activity. Suddenly, one lion darts at another, others react, and the moment is gone. Photographing lions is tough in that regard as you can't spend hours hunched over a camera, eyes glued to the eye piece waiting for that moment. What it needs is anticipation and behavioural knowledge, not only for lions but for any species that you plan to photograph.
