Desert Adapted Black Rhino
A little background info for this image. I have been privileged to be able to work with some of the most capable and dedicated rhino trackers who are part of the Save the Rhino Trust in Namibia. This encounter was by the book- the wind was in our favor and as she was resting we sat quietly some ways off. After her nap, she stood up, did a little pirouette, stared in our direction and then proceeded to run straight at us. With nowhere to hide or climb my only option was to hunker down and keep shooting. I’ll take this opportunity to thank Sebulon for distracting her.
