How to photograph an elephants death
useradmin_davephotos2024-04-03T17:04:25+02:00I suppose the most important thing about “how to photograph an elephants death” is to actually witness the event in the first place. This female just happened to stumble across the track in front of me, took 3 steps and died. The reaction from the rest of the herd was very intense, but also calm and peaceful. After the entire herd had what seemed to me, paid their respects they slowly moved off and left these 2 young males milling around with the smaller guy somewhat stressed (throwing sand). To try and capture the drama the low angle emphasized her body but the tender touch from the trunk made the image all the more powerful.
