Eternal competition between leopards and hyenas
In the previous post I wrote about an image needing go tell a story, and that important aspect is reflected in this image.

An image needs to tell a story
The images that work best are always those that have a story to tell. Thinking about what you are trying to convey through the image will help you determine how to shoot a scene- blood and guts certainly doesn’t work in most images- unless that’s the point you want to make.

The iconic leopard hanging out in a tree
Wildlife photography (for me) is about capturing interesting behavior in decent light- but as in most cases the subject failed to get the brief and just hanging out doing nothing is what you have to work with.

Lion pride drinking @chitabecamp in the Okavango
A great photographic morning when a pride of lions pops out of the long grass to come down and drink

Leopards and lighting
Chitabe’s amazing relaxed leopard population allows for many great photo opportunities.

Many times they go through but this time he goes over
The iconic Okavango image of a big male lion plowing through the flooded grasslands is on every wildlife photographer’s wants list, but today was not to be.

Unusual prey for cheetah
When you have the privilege to operate in an area that has a high density of cheetah AND giraffe it is still an amazing moment when you can record cheetah with their prey, a baby giraffe.
