The iconic leopard hanging out in a tree

The difference is knowing when to quit and move on- persistence is what kicks in when you know there is a chance something will happen and patience is when you sit there hoping something will happen. Persistence is what you have when you need a kill sequence and a leopard is hungry, patience is what you have to have when the leopard has a full tummy and you still need the action shot.
