This pride of lions stumbled onto the bounty of a dead fully grown male elephant. They didn’t pull this elephant down, although a pride this size is capable of doing such a thing, but they located it the same way we did, via the smell. The females laying ontop were either trying to get out of the grass and insects or trying to take advantage of the slight breeze. The cubs were merely using the carcass as a jungle gym to play on.
