We knew where the pride was and we also had an idea that this male wanted to join them. We also knew what lay in between- a small channel of water that he would have to cross. The decision was, do we want more images of a lion walking or do we want to try and get an image with a little more action and drama- the choice was easy. Knowing where he was likely to cross allowed us to get around the channel and wait up for him to arrive, which he duly did.
