There is a huge advantage in finding predators before first light. Working through the changing light creates many more opportunities that just aren’t there with a sun that has already risen. Shooting backlit into a rising before the contrast is too harsh literally lasts a couple of minutes. This little pride was walking through the long grass which a was test in focussing but the minute they popped onto the mound the image was there.
