Lion in the midst of an attempted tsessebe hunt

Life in the bush is tough, success is low and failure is high, especially with lions. The success rate for a successful hunt is pretty low with lions when compared to all the other major predators. What they do have in the favor is the ability to pull down larger prey and the strength to defend the carcass from other (usually)

This image couldn’t have been made without the phenomenal A1  servo autofocus setting on my Canon camera, it locks on to the subject like a burr to a blanket.
