13 lions feeding in and on an elephant carcass is smelly, gory and overall not a pleasant experience. It is still something worth witnessing but gory, blood filled images just don’t work for me- so, I try to to capture the essence of what is happening by isolating little moments that tell the story. The little cub draped over the tusk does its bit- an elephant died and a pride of lions are taking full advantage of the bounty- with no blood and gore.
