Leopard portrait

Leopard portrait

This particular female photographed at Chitabe camp in the Okavango is a great example of ethical and responsible safaris. Her name is Tswaletswale, but commonly referred to as the “wapuka” one- the crazy one. She has been living under our noses for many years but for some unknown reason she prefers to disappear as soon as we approach. Getting identification images of her has been difficult and so, over the years we have simply given her space to do her own thing.  But now, many years later SHE has a decided that we are not pressurizing her and now feels a lot more comfortable with our presence. There has never been noise making, unnecessary movement or any kind of pressure put on her to in order to get a reaction (this goes for all the leopards). And now we reap the benefits of considerate and respectful interaction with her with portrait images like this.
